I will be out of town this week. The students will be working on weather and climate projects. We will be sending home progress reports monthly that need to be signed and returned. There is one page of homework per night Monday through Thursday. They only need to complete one side. If they don't understand, I am available before school and I go over home work again with the kids who struggled.
We also need the Technology and Behavior forms signed and returned to the classroom teacher.
Upcoming dates: 10/7 Moose is Loose Carnival

Project Based Learning Units Science Fair Projects/Science - December/January
Turtle Steve has a classroom pet Tortoise. Hulk is 22 years old and students can take him home to spend the night but only with a note from parents. He can be a little dirty so please have your child wash your hands after touching him and keep him away from other pets (he is shy).
I-Ready Students now have access to an i-Ready program to help them with Math and Literacy. They have their password and log-in information.
Peer Conflicts: We are teaching the students a skills based program to deal with Bullying and Conflicts with peers. This includes Second Step, and Stop, Walk, Talk. These programs have been approved through the district and will teach valuable skills to have as they continue into middle school. We ask all students to write us notes about peer problems to keep them private and not disrupt instruction.
Good Behavior: In Math and Science, kids receive poker chips and stamps in their planners for good behavior. They trade in the chips for no homework passes and snacks on Friday. They also receive rocks and superheroes for being a role model. They also trade these in for prizes.
If your child is struggling at school with conflicts, please contact us, and we will address the situation as soon as possible. Thank-you again for your support.
